Pedestrian crossing made much safer

Early in 2011, as part of its initiative in favour of greener and zero-recurrent-cost road signage, Smart Light Systems cooperated with the Attard local council to launch the very first pedestrian crossing lighting in Mosta Road, a heavily trafficked area close to a primary school.

Using 100% renewable solar energy, this LED-lit sign was locally researched, developed and produced with the aim of further enhancing road safety at night by providing vehicle drivers with a visible indication of the pedestrian crossing ahead. This pilot project has since developed, and further installations of the product have been carried out at various locations in Malta and Gozo. The pedestrian sign has also recently won an innovation award.
